Hopefully someone else will find this useful. I don’t really have any questions, but comments on my decision are welcome. All of Steams Packages seem to be a good deal if they include what you want and nothing you don’t, otherwise they are a sinkhole. It’s a lot better than buying the Orange Box that doesn’t have everything I want and has things I don’t want like the pricey Premier Package. This will only cost me $29.95 for three online multiplayer games that is a steal. The package includes the SDK so I shouldn’t need Half-Life 2 to play the multiplayer games, and hopefully I wont need it to play the insurgency mod. That’s everything I planned on getting with the exception of Half-Life 2. It includes Day of Defeat Source, Counter Strike Source, and HL2 Deathmatch. I found another Package that seems to be ideal. Though there is a possibility they will become unavailable, but it’s unlikely. Along with not ending up with a lot of stuff I don’t want and having to pay $10 more for it optimistically the prices may drop on the other games before I buy them. It looks like buying the ones I want as I want them will be the best thing to do. So I’ll be spending $79.95 on $69.80 worth of games I want and $109.75 worth of games I don’t want, but might end up playing and possibly liking. Team Fortress 2: Which I already paid for $29.95 Half- Life Source which I don’t care for $9.95 Half-Life Deathmatch Source should be a nostalgic version of HL2DM No listed Price Half-Life Lost Coast which I don’t care for No listed price Half-Life Episode 2 which I don’t care for $29.95 Half-Life Episode 1 which I don’t care for $19.95 Half-Life 2: Deathmatch which I really want to play and is involved in gaming leages $9.95
Half life source premier pack mods#
Half-Life 2 which has a lot of interesting mods $29.95 I like the looks of the Source premier pack.Ĭounter-Strike: Source which is reported to be heavily modded $19.95ĭay of Defeat: Source which looks fun and is involved in gaming leagues $9.95 So, here I am again looking for a FPS online Multiplayer game. People also blast away at pointblank range with rocket launchers without fear of causing damage to themselves or teammates. Shooting at teammates to make sure they aren’t spies is common practice, because there is no penalty for doing so. Having to shoot some one multiple times in the head to kill them is frustrating. It’s well deserving of the term cluster-****. They know what they goal is, but there is no co-ordination. It’s fun but there’s no strategy people just run around like headless chickens. Team Fortress 2 sounded good so I bought it as a stand-alone. I was looking for good FPS multiplayer games when I came across the Orange Box thread here.
